McLane, Astros Have Talked To 20-25 Suitors

According to reports, Drayton McLane and his investment bank have had roughly 20-25 conversations with potential suitors for the Houston Astros.

Among those potential suitors is former Washington Nationals president Stan Kasten. Kasten has also been the president of both the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Thrashers.

When asked about the topic, Kasten replied:

"I’m asked every day what I might do next, and just not ready to talk about anything yet."

McLane put the team up for sale nearly a month ago.

EDIT: According to McLane himself, as reported by Brian McTaggart, there is no substance to the rumor that Stan Kasten is involved in getting a group together to purchase the Astros.

"Stan and I have talked and he has said someday he'd like to get back into baseball, but as far as him putting a group together, there's no substance to it," McLane told MLB.com Wednesday night.
