Well, I've already talked about the Astros decision to fire their GM and president of baseball operations over at The Crawfish Boxes. But, there is one thing I didn't touch upon: circumstantial evidence.
↵The last time a team fired Ed Wade (the 2005 Phillies), they won the World Series three years later.
↵The last team to be as hopeless as the Astros (the 2003 Detroit Tigers), had a new GM who took his team to the World Series...you guessed it, three years later.
↵Coincidence? I think not.
↵That means the Astros are all set to make their own World Series appearance in 2014. Think that will be attractive to prospective GM candidates?
↵Exactly. You're welcome, Jim Crane. I'm a veritable font of recruiting help today. Now, go get Andrew Friedman and get to the Series immediately.
