Anderson Hernandez's Walk-Off Single Gives Astros Victory Over Nats

Kissimmee, FL (Sports Network) – Anderson Hernandez’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning finished a five-run rally and was the deciding factor, as Houston edged Washington, 8-7, in Grapefruit League play.

Jason Michaels went 2-for-3 with a run scored while Brett Myers allowed six runs — five earned — on eight hits and fanned four in the five-inning start. Gustavo Chacin threw a perfect ninth inning to record the win.

Nyjer Morgan belted a three-run homer in the fifth inning while Jayson Werth, Michael Morse and Wilson Ramos each knocked in a run for the Nationals.

Ross Detwiler allowed three runs — two earned — on four hits in a three inning start. Tyler Clippard was charged for the loss, allowing five runs on four hits in an inning of work.
