Astros Spring Training: Wandy Roughed Up In 8-4 Loss To Tigers

Final Score: Detroit 8, Houston 4

Kissimmee, FL (Sports Network) - Miguel Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI, leading the Detroit Tigers in an 8-4 spring training win over the Houston Astros.

Victor Martinez added two hits and two RBI for the Tigers, while starter Brad Penny gave up two runs in six innings. Penny allowed seven hits, walked two, and struck out four.

In three innings, Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez surrendered five runs on six hits and four walks. Carlos Lee hit a two-run blast.

Considering this game happened around lunch time, I have to give Carlos Lee credit for keeping his concentration long enough to hit a home run. Impressive!

Tommy Manzella, fresh off being called back up to the Majors following the injury to Clint Barmes, went 1-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Houston takes on the Phillies in Grapefruit League action tomorrow. They open the season in Philly on Friday.
