Brewers Spank Astros, Figueroa, 14-7

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – Ryan Braun and Carlos Gomez each hit a three- run home run as Milwaukee outlasted Houston, 14-7, to open a three-game set.

Casey McGehee, Mark Kotsay and Yuniesky Betancourt each drove in two runs while Prince Fielder scored three times for the Brewers, who have won three of four.

Yovani Gallardo (2-1) gave up four runs on eight hits with a walk and seven strikeouts to get the win. He also hit a solo home run in the game.

Hunter Pence drove in two while Michael Bourn and Brett Wallace each went 3- for-5 with an RBI and a run scored for the Astros, who have dropped their past two.

Nelson Figueroa (0-3) was tagged for six runs on six hits with five walks and two strikeouts over four-plus innings.


Tomorrow it will be Brett Myers vs. Shaun Marcum as the Astros look to get back to their winning ways in Milwaukee.
