Jose Altuve Named To Futures Game

We've just about run out of segues to say "the Astros are horrible, but there are a few bright spots."

So without further ado, know that Astros second base prospect and professional Mighty Mouse imitator Jose Altuve has been named to the World Team as part of MLB's Futures Game. Altuve had one of the strongest statistical profiles in the minor leagues coming into the year, but scouts didn't like his 5-foot-5 frame. Or the fact that he just fell out of their cereal boxes. All he's done this year, between high A Lancaster and AA Corpus Christi, is hit .398/.434/.612, with eight homers and 23 stolen bases. Yes, .398. That's not a typo.

That leaves the Astros with a grand total of...one prospect? That's all? One damn prospect in the Futures Game? The Astros are one of ten teams that only sent one prospect to the game. What has Ed Wade been doing the last four years?

Don't worry, nobody's listening.
