2011 MLB Draft: Where The Astros Once Picked Perry Berry

Grant Brisbee has another of his typically off-the-wall power rankings posts up this week on Baseball Nation. The Astros have produced the 14th best collection of draftable names in Brisbee's estimation, which is great because whenever I read his name, I think of the Orange County Liberation Front.

The Astros must have had, like, one scout in the ‘70s, because they'd usually check out after about 15 rounds. Interesting strategy.

I'm a big fan of the name Perry Berry, and plan to include it in place of my regular Gregg Legg jokes for awhile. The Astros don't have any names rated at a 10 by Brisbee, but instead their greatness is pieced together round-by-round, with no obvious anchors. I'd argue that Patton should push this list down.
