After tossing seven solid innings yesterday afternoon in Chicago, Wandy Rodriguez continues to show up in many trade rumors with the deadline quickly approaching.
↵Jon Morosi reported earlier today that the Diamondbacks are inquiring about Rodriguez, but neither side is close to reaching a deal. Arizona does have some interesting prospects that could be available, most notably 3B Bobby Borchering and LHP Tyler Skaggs, but we do know that the Astros are asking for a lot in return. ↵↵↵The Astros are asking for as much in return for Wandy Rodriguez as the Rockies are for Ubaldo Jimenez. General manager Ed Wade is in a difficult position, caught between an ownership change.

Wandy's contract (roughly $36 million over the next three years) is a driving factor in some teams shying away from the Astros' lefty, but his numbers this year (6-7, 3.60 ERA) are quite impressive. The Astros might have to pay some of that remaining money in order to get a deal done, but it would still help in shedding payroll and acquiring younger talent.
↵Cincinnati has also asked about Rodriguez as well, but am I the only one that couldn't see him pitching in a Reds uniform?
↵Oh well, we'll see because the Astros could be hesitant to trade Wandy within the NL Central.
