Astros Open Game With Six Straight Hits, Break Franchise Record

In such a disappointing season as this one, Astros' fans have certainly been through a lot. That's why Friday night was really something special, and it was a welcome change.

Each of the first six Astro hitters recorded base-hits, setting a franchise record in the process. Even the losingest team in club history (55-102) can do something exciting every once and a while, and that's why baseball is such a wonderful sport.

For months, this team and its' fanbase has been tortured by a multitude of losses and poor performance. While Friday night's dominating win won't drastically change anything in the standings, the team's achievement was fun to watch and providing an exciting bright spot.

J.B Shuck had three hits as he continues to play well in his rookie season, and he had this to say:

"That’s pretty exciting," said Shuck, who scored three runs and had a triple. "When you get six hits in a row, you’re going to score runs. That’s going to start the game off good and get your pitcher to settle down and be able to throw with confidence."
