Astros Throwback Uniforms Honoring The Colt .45s Will Be Missing The Colt .45

The Houston Astros will be wearing a Colt .45s throwback uniform commemorating the 50th anniversary of the club. However, the uniform will be missing one key part of the uniform: The Colt .45. Major League Baseball made the ruling that the throwback uniform can not have the gun at all:

According to ESPN.com, in a letter to fan James Crabtree, who wrote to MLB commissioner Bud Selig, Astros authentication manager Mike Acosta wrote: "During our discussion with Major League Baseball, it was expressed to us that we could wear the uniform as long as the pistol was removed. We realize this changes the original design, but we still want to honor the Colt .45s. We are also under an obligation to follow Major League Baseball's requests."

The fans are not happy either with the decision at all, because the team name was the Colt .45s and if guns are a sensitive issue then why let the Astros even use the team name at all. In a poll done by the Houston Chronicle, 97 percent of the fans believe the gun should be in the logo.
