Luhnow Apologizes To Rangers, Ends Possible Blood Feud

Ugh, what a cop-out. I know Jeff Luhnow was doing the "right thing" by apologizing to Jon Daniels and Nolan Ryan. After all, he might have to turn around and trade with them at some point. Plus, it seems like Luhnow is just a nice guy who may not want to really insult people or act like the Yankees/Red Sox or something.

↵

But, did Luhnow really have to do that? After reading all the quotes Astros County linked to from Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News, I'm ready to ride for our guy Luhnow. Nobody does that to our GM. Only we can do that to our GM.

↵

Look, the crux of Grant's argument is that Luhnow doesn't deserve any credit for the success in St. Louis and that he shouldn't be at some conference when there's spring training games being played. It's bunk. Luhnow made a comment as a joke, had it taken out of context and tried to make it into a thing with the Rangers when its not. Meanwhile, he's seeking to talk about ways in which baseball and all sports can benefit from different types of analysis, which is a worthy cause.

↵

Oh, and is that implying that only the GM can take credit for a winning team? Please.

↵

I almost wish Luhnow had meant those comments, because this feud with the Rangers needs some juice. I'm tired of just getting angry with silly writers who yell at the GM. That's not a good enough use of my outrage. Let's step it up, people!
