The bats for the Houston Astros once again fell silent as they were shutout 6-0 against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday afternoon. The Reds starting pitcher Johnny Cueto pitched seven scoreless innings and allowed only five hits. To finish off the shutout the Reds brought out Logan Ondrusek to pitch the eighth and Aroldis Chapman closed out the game in the ninth innings.
Lucas Harrell was the starting pitcher for the Astros and he gave up all six runs in the game while pitching six innings. The damage came in the second, fourth and six innings where the Reds scored a pair of runs in each. It was Reds outfielder Jay Bruce who led the way for the Reds by going 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in the win.
The Astros offense never got going and when they did get players on base that is where they ended up, and for the game the Astros left eight men on base.
