At the quarter pole for the 2012 Major League Baseball season has not been kind to the Astros as they are sitting with a 18-23 record and an offense that has not been very good. The last 10 games for the Astros have not been going well with a 4-6 record.

On the bright side of things the Astros are currently only 4.5 games out of first place in the NL Central, and the current top spot is being held by the St. Louis Cardinals who are 22-18 then followed by the Cincinnati Reds who are just one game behind in second place.

NL Central Standings

W L PCT GB STRK
St. Louis 22 18 .550 0 Lost 3
Cincinnati 21 19 .525 1 Won 2
Pittsburgh 19 22 .463 3.5 Lost 1
Houston 18 23 .439 4.5 Lost 1
Milwaukee 17 24 .414 5.5 Won 1
Chicago 15 26 .365 7.5 Lost 6

The Astros next series is a three game set at home against the last place Chicago Cubs, so perhaps the Astros can move closer to the top of the NL Central.
