A.J. Ellis hit a three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the ninth to send the Houston Astros to a 6-3 loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Houston squandered early opportunities against Dodgers' starter Chad Billingsley who labored early.
The Astros took a 2-0 lead with an RBI single by Carlos Lee in the first and a bases loaded walk by Jordan Schafer in the second. Bud Norris couldn't hold the lead after he allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings while throwing 116 pitches. That snapped the Astros' streak of 38 straight games of having a starter at least reach the fifth inning.
Brian Bogusevic finished with two hits for the Astros while James Loney went 3 for 4 for the Dodgers. Andre Ethier and Dee Gordon each finished with two hits.
Wesley Wright takes the loss for Houston while Kenley Jansen earns the victory.
