The Houston Astros added another arm on Monday when they signed Brian Bass, who was pitching for the Hanwha Eagles in the Korean Baseball League, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com.

↵Bass pitched in the major leagues from 2008-2010 and made 101 appearances with the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates. He has a career ERA of 5.16.
↵The 30-year-old right-hander has made just four career starts but after pitching as a starter in Korea, he will work as one for the Astros. He has been assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City and will make his debut on Wednesday.
↵At this point, Bass will serve as organizational depth, but he could be one of the first options, if a starter goes down with an injury.
