Astros Vs. Cardinals Score Update: St. Louis Leads 7-1 Through Six Innings

The Houston Astros are going to have to come up with something spectacular either on the mound or at the plate, or probably both, in order to complete the sweep against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday at Minute Maid Park. Houston is trailing St. Louis 7-1 through six innings.

Regardless of what happens in the next couple of innings, the Astros are riding a five-game winning streak, which includes a series win against the Cardinals this weekend. But J.A. Happ had a long day, giving up five earned runs in five innings pitched, while Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright was able to throw 20 less pitches than Happ in those five innings.

St. Louis scored two runs in the first, then one run in both the second and third innings, before another two-run inning in the fourth. Enerio Del Rosario came in relief for Happ, but gave up a run in the sixth inning on an RBI-single by Rafael Furcal. Carlos Lee scored the Astros lone run in the fourth inning on a wild pitch.
