The injuries keep piling up for the Astros and they are down another outfielder in Fernando Martinez who has been placed on the new seven-day disabled list for suffering a concussion. This is the fourth player this week that the Astros had to place on the disabled list; the other three are Carlos Lee, Marwin Gonzalez and Travis Buck.
Martinez's injury was believed to be suffered when Martinez was in AAA as he dove for a ball.
With the injury the Astros are down to only four outfielders and with a pair of American League teams and the need for a designated hitter the bench will be thin. To combat that the Astros recalled Matt Downs on Friday who can play some outfield if needed as can Brian Bixler.
