Houston's bats were dominated on Friday night against Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants. On Saturday night, the Astros will face off against struggling two-time Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum.
Lincecum has been nothing shy of awful this year -- and his numbers are historically bad. He carries a 3-10 record into Saturday's contest, with a 6.42 ERA and atrocious 1.58 WHIP. Lincecum has struck out 104 in 96 and 2/3 innings of work, but he's also issued 50 walks to go along with those strikeouts.
In his last two starts, Lincecum has lasted just three and 1/3 innings each, and has given up a combined 14 runs (13 earned).
Houston will send Lucas Harrell to the mound, opposing Lincecum. To date, Harrell is 7-6, with a 4.56 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. Harrell's last outing came on July 3, a no decision in which Harrell surrendered five runs on nine hits in five innings, but did strike out nine.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:05 p.m. CT. Televised coverage can be found on FOX Sports Houston.
