Astros Vs. Braves Final Score: Houston Drops Series Finale 6-1

The Houston Astros wrapped up their three-game series in Atlanta with a 6-1 loss to the Braves on Sunday. The Astros have not won consecutive games in over a month.

The Braves jumped out to an early 1-0 on a solo home run by backup catcher David Ross. Houston tied the game in the sixth on a one out double by Justin Maxwell off of Atlanta reliever Corey Gearrin. However, the Braves answered back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning off of starter Bud Norris.

Norris lost for the eighth consecutive time and drops to 5-9 on the season after allowing seven hits and four runs in six innings of work. Jonny Venters picks up the win for the Braves while allowing a hit and retiring two batters. Venters got pinch hitter J.D. Martinez to ground out with the bases loaded in the sixth to get Atlanta out of a jam.

Brett Wallace and Jason Maxwell had two hits each for the Astros. Chipper Jones, Freddie Freeman and David Ross had two hits apiece for the Braves.
