Houston Cruises Over Rogers St. 85-48

Maurice McNeil went off for 25 points and 13 boards on 9-12 shooting and the Houston Cougars nearly doubled up the HillCats in a game that was never really close, 85-48. The Coogs shot 50% from the floor, 50% from beyond the arc, and had just eleven turnovers. Meanwhile, Rogers State missed every three pointer they took—all 14 of them—and shot just 37% from the field.

Freshman forward Alandise Harris dropped 12 points and chipped in 11 boards for the Cougars, who moved to 8-5 on the season before they enter the Conference USA portion of their schedule. Kendrick Washington sat out the game with an infection in his elbow, and the team has designated him as day-to-day.

John Boyd led the HillCats with 12 points. Houston will host the 10-2 Southern Miss. Golden Eagles next Wednesday to open up Conference USA action.
