The Houston Cougars currently control their fate for a BCS bowl game as they are currently in the top automatic spot for the non-AQ schools for a BCS bowl game due to the Boise St. Broncos losing over the weekend. For Houston to complete the BCS run they must win out and win the Conference USA title. There will be some added pressure for Houston to stay undefeated next week when they face the SMU Mustangs. That is because ESPN's College GameDay will be on campus for the first time in school history.

The Texas A&M Aggies had high hopes this season with aspirations and expectations of winning the Big 12, but currently Texas A&M is sitting at 5-5 and still needing one more win to become bowl eligible. The way Texas A&M has played this year nothing is guaranteed and the last two chances to become bowl eligible will come against either the Kansas Jayhawks or Texas Longhorns. Assuming Texas A&M beats Kansas they will be heading to a mid-level bowl game.

Here are the latest bowl projections:

Fiesta Bowl, Jan. 2, 2012
Houston vs. Oklahoma

Meineke Car Care of Texas, Dec. 31, 2011
Texas A&M vs. Ohio State
