Houston-SMU - The Hottest Ticket In Town

As of Monday morning, callers to the University of Houston ticket office were being told that the game between the Cougars and the Mustangs of SMU on Saturday had sold out.

UH enters the game ranked #10 nationally in the coaches poll, and in control of its own destiny in terms of a BCS bowl bid. Although the game itself will be televised on Fox Sports, the ESPN GameDay crew will be in town for the game, as well.

While Houston is a school that has traditionally struggled to draw fans, it has managed to put over 30,000 butts in seats for every home game the past two years, and Saturday's contest may feature the most riled up fans yet.

After the news of the sell out, the cheapest available general admission tickets on StubHub went up from $65 to $80 in the span of an hour. Want to sit in the lower reserved seating? That'll run you a cool $550 per ticket, at present. And with only two such tickets available, you'll have to move fast.

And before you ask, no, I don't have any extra tickets. Sorry.
