UH Will Find The Value Of An Automatic Bid

The story has been out there for a while that the University of Houston will be invited to join the Big East. It's been talked about in a number of ways, but I wanted to touch on one big thing this morning.

Yesterday, Dustin wrote about how the country was split on whether U of H deserved to be in the BCS running (they do). But, with the move to the Big East, it appears that the argument will be moot, as Houston will be able to automatically qualify for a bid to a BCS bowl.

They still have to win and they'll have to beat some tough teams in Boise State and..well, there will be other tough teams. The Big East BCS qualifier has also been derided for the past few years as not being very worthy, but that's also because those teams have had a bunch of losses. If a Cougar squad or Bronco team rolls into the bowl with an undefeated record, will people still say they're undeserving?

The move will have its bumps along the way, but being in a BCS conference has its advantages.
