For the Houston Cougars their BCS ranking is not as important as winning the Conference USA title game against the Southern Miss. Golden Eagles next Saturday, because if Houston loses they will be heading to the Ticket City Bowl instead of going to their first ever BCS bowl game. In the latest projected BCS standings Houston is expected to be ranked No. 7. They move up one spot because the Arkansas Razorbacks, who were previously ranked No, 3, were blown out 41-17 over top ranked LSU Tigers on Saturday and should fall one spot behind Houston to the No. 8 spot.
Even though Houston is the only other undefeated alongside LSU, there is not a chance for them to climb up to the No. 2 spot and get to the BCS title game, they are just too far behind to make that kind of move.
