The Houston Lady Cougars received a No. 8 seed in the Dallas Region for this year's NCAA Women's Basketball Championship, where they'll face the No. 9 West Virginia Mountaineers in the first round. The Cougars dominated Conference USA, but weren't able to win the conference tournament, falling to Tulane in the semi-finals. Their game against the Mountaineers will be played at 4:10 CT on ESPN2 this Sunday.
↵The bracket sets up nicely for an all-Texas matchup with No. 1 seed Baylor in the second round. Baylor will face SWAC champion Prairie View A&M in the first round. That entire pod will be played in Waco, giving Baylor home-court advantage. Odyssey Sims and Brittney Griner will cause matchup problems for the Cougs or Mountaineers in the second round.
↵The Texas A&M Aggies received a No. 2 seed in the Dallas region, and could set up a fourth matchup this year with Baylor should they both advance to the regional finals. They'll start out against the Southland Conference champion McNeese State Tigers. The Texas Longhorns nabbed a No. 9 seed in the Dayton region, they'll play No. 8 Marquette for the chance to advance and face No. 1 seed Tennessee.
