Final Four: Jacob Tucker Looks To VCU The NCAA Dunk Contest

Something that often gets overlooked as the Final Four hype builds for the teams is the side events. You know, the College Slam Dunk Championship and Three Point Shootout. The things that they re-run on ESPN2 at 3 A.M. once in a blue moon.

This year the Dunk Championship has a little internet hype behind it as Youtube and Deadspin sensation Jacob Tucker has been voted into the contest. Tucker, a 5'11 guard from Division III Illinois College, has some pretty nice hops as you can see below:

Tucker will square off against Gilbert Brown of Pittsburgh, Justin Burrell of Pittsburgh, Will Coleman of Memphis, Justin Tubbs of East Tennessee State, Billy White of San Diego State, Darnell Wilks of Cincinnati, and John Williams of UNC-Asheville.

College men and women alike will also be shooting three-pointers at baskets! Some of the bigger names include Baylor's LaceDarius Dunn, Kansas State's Jacob Pullen, Kansas' Brady Morningstar, and St. Mary's Mickey McConnell. One actual University of Houston student will be out there: Brittney Scott of the Lady Coogs will shoot in the women's three-point contest.

The events will take place on the University of Houston campus, at Hofheinz Pavilion. Doors open at 6:30 PM CT and the cost to get in is $15. Alternately, you could wait for the event to show up on ESPN2 at 8:00 PM CT.
