Rivals is counting down the 100 best players in the nation in college football, and today named Houston Cougar senior wide receiver Patrick Edwards #93.
Edwards has been a huge offensive threat the last two years for Houston, after coming back from a nightmarish leg injury during his freshman season. I still remember watching that injury as it happened, and I have never been able to get myself to watch it again. The fact that the man is still walking is a miracle, let alone playing college football at an elite level.
Did I mention that Edwards came to UH as a walk-on? Because Patrick Edwards totally came to Houston as a walk-on. He has since, um, earned a scholarship, to say the least, to the tune of 2,755 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns. With Case Keenum returning to the Cougars, let's hope the best is yet to come for Edwards in his final season on Cullen Boulevard.
