After nine weeks of college football completed, there are two undefeated teams in Conference USA play. In the East division, the Central Florida Knights kept themselves on top and unblemished with a 54-17 beating of the Marshall Thundering Herd.
Central Florida's win over Marshall leaves only the East Carolina Pirates (5-4, 4-1) within one game of the Knights in the East division.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (7-1, 5-0) tops the West division and enjoyed a bye on Saturday. One game behind Tulsa are the SMU Mustangs and the Houston Cougars. Houston kept pace with a 45-35 win over the UTEP Miners. SMU took care of the Memphis Tigers, 44-13, and stays ahead of Houston by virtue of its blowout win over the Cougars in week eight.
The Tulane Green Wave have been a nice surprise in conference play, moving to 2-2 with a 55-45 win over the UAB Blazers on Saturday. After starting 0-5 with a slew of blowout losses, Tulane is 2-1 in the last three weeks, with the loss coming by only four points.
