UCF and Tulsa continue to hold on to the division leads in Conference USA, with East Carolina challenging the Knights in the West.
The UCF Knights won a big game over SMU on Saturday, ending the Mustangs' hopes for a division win with the 42-17 victory. For the season the Knights have lost just twice, going 5-0 within the conference to move to the top of the East Division standings.
Tulsa sits on top of the West Division despite a 19-15 loss to Arkansas on Saturday. The Hurricanes had won seven straight games after an opening-week loss to Iowa State.
Houston and Rice continue to struggle both within the conference and out of it, as the Cougars lost to East Carolina 48-28 a week after a big win against UTEP. The Owls, meanwhile, have won three of their last four games including two against conference opponents Tulane and Southern Miss.
