Half Time: Najar Strike Leads D.C. Over Dynamo

Andy Najar’s 29th minute goal is this difference so far in tonight’s match-up between the Houston Dynamo and D.C. United.

Najar’s goal was a demonstration of individual skill against a patched together Dynamo back line. Due to suspensions and coaching decisions, the Dynamo started a back line of Richard Mulrooney, Ryan Cochrane, Adrian Serioux and Andrew Hainault. Serioux started last week ahead of Eddie Robinson, who seems to have fallen out of favor with head coach Dominic Kinnear, and Ryan Cochrane gets the rare start due to Bobby Boswell’s suspension (yellow card accumulation).

D.C. United’s goal was the only goal of the half, but the Eastern Conference club controlled much of the game throughout the first 45 minutes.

Houston has had a few half-chances but has been unable to really test United’s keeper.

The second half is coming up in a few minutes. Stay here for updates and to see if Houston can score a goal and make things interesting.
