Half Time: Cameron Goal Gives Houston Lead Against Run Of Play

It was an ugly and nervy first half for the Houston Dynamo, but a Geoff Cameron goal means the Dynamo enter the locker room with the lead, and that is all that matters.

Seattle, up until the last 5 minutes of the half, totally dominated the match and had a number of scoring opportunities. Houston goalkeeper Tally Hall came up huge four or five times, keeping Houston from giving up a multiple goals.

The opening goal came in the 42nd minute after Geoff Cameron slotted in an effort following a Lovel Palmer screamer of a free kick. Cameron won the free kick after some impressive play in the middle of the pitch, and the Palmer free kick was a beautiful effort that hit Kasey Keller’s crossbar.

Houston continued to press after the goal, filled with confidence, but was unable to double up the lead.

The Sounders nearly equalized in the waning seconds of the half after a scramble in Houston’s box, but was unable to convert.

The Dynamo will have to do better in the second half if they want to win the match.
