Half Time: 0-0 But Plenty Of Positives For Houston

After 45 minutes, it is tied at 0-0 in San Jose between the Dynamo and Earthquakes.

It has been a scrappy half of soccer, with both teams fouling hard and heavy in an effort to control the game, though neither team has received a card from the referee.

The big news tonight, with respect to the Dynamo, is Geoff Cameron’s switch from the center-attacking midfield role to central defender, filling in for Andre Hainault and Jermaine Taylor, who are both out due to the Gold Cup. Cameron has played fantastic there tonight and has reminded Dynamo fans of his All-Star worthy performances from 2009.

The other big news for Houston is the Danny Cruz’s return to the starting line-up following his lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury. Cruz’s speed was sorely missed over the past few weeks, and the team already looks more potent with him back in the line-up. Colin Clark, Lovel Palmer, and Brad Davis fill out the rest of the midfield.
