Revenge will be on the minds of the Houston Dynamo on Saturday as they face off against the LA Galaxy in the 2012 MLS Cup, a rematch of the 2011 MLS Cup. In last year's installment, the Dynamo were forced to play a rigid, defensive game as the Galaxy nicked a goal to win their third league title.
This season's version of the match-up should prove to at least be a far more entertaining game. Offensive engine Brad Davis will be healthy going into the game this time, and Will Bruin has evolved into a solid all-around forward in his second season. The former Indiana striker also has momentum on his side, with three goals in MLS Cup playoff play this year. The Dynamo have some extra firepower on the squad compared to last year as well. Specifically, designated player Boniek Garcia, who chipped in 10 points for the team since joining halfway through the season.
Los Angeles is still the same star-studded squad that won the 2011 Cup and two straight Supporters' Shields before this season. The band will be broken up when David Beckham leaves after the final, but they'll have all the firepower a team could ask for with him, Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and Juninho all ready for the game.
Both teams have tons of playoff experience and cup-winning players dotting their rosters, so it may be a game that goes right to the final whistle to decide at the Home Depot Center.
The game will be at 3:30 p.m. CT. It will be televised on ESPN and Telefutura.
