NBA Scores - Rockets Dig Themselves A Bigger Hole

Southwest Division results

Oklahoma City 116, Houston 99 — Full recap here.

Dallas 97, New Orleans 99 — Hot shooting kept the Mavericks in the game all the way, but a David West steal in the final seconds helped seal the win for the Hornets. The two teams traded tough wins in a home-and-home and it looks like both will be serious playoff contenders this year. Juan Jose Barea shot 2-13 from the field, yet the Mavs still hit 50.7% of their shots. The turnover margin went to New Orleans by six, which helped even things up. Dirk Nowitzki’s 29 points paced the Mavericks.

Chicago 94, San Antonio 103 — Derrick Rose got 33 points, but it took him 27 shots to get them and the rest of his teammates were sitting on their hands by the time this game was over. Tony Parker led another balanced San Antonio attack with 20 points, three questions answered about his divorce, and one angry Spurs staffer making sure that three more weren’t fired. Luol Deng and Taj Gibson combined to shoot 6-24 from the field under stifling Spurs defense.
