Rockets Trounce Grizzlies For Seventh Straight Home Win

Houston, TX (Sports Network) – Kevin Martin scored 34 points and Kyle Lowry supplied 17 points and a career-high 18 assists in Houston’s 103-87 victory over Memphis at Toyota Center.

Luis Scola added 23 points and nine rebounds while Shane Battier chipped in with 17 points, 10 boards and five assists for the Rockets, who have won three of their last four.

Houston’s decisive win came after it had found out earlier in the day that center Yao Ming would be lost for the season with a stress fracture in his left ankle.

Yao wound up playing in just five games this season, after missing the entire 2009-10 campaign following surgery on his left foot, averaging 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in slightly more than 18 minutes per contest.

Rudy Gay and Sam Young scored 19 points apiece and Zach Randolph contributed 13 points and nine rebounds for the Grizzlies, who had won four-straight.
