NBA Scores -- Battier Sends Rockets Fans Home Happy

Southwest Division results

Los Angeles Lakers 99, Houston Rockets 109 — Full recap here.

Memphis Grizzlies 109, Atlanta Hawks 112 — In an up and down game noted for it’s complete lack of defense, the Hawks were able to keep the Grizzlies at bay and win their fourth in a row. Memphis was able to cut a huge gap in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t finish the comeback. Atlanta’s better three-point shooting percentage was basically the only difference in the box score: 7-12 vs. 3-10 for Memphis. Rudy Gay led all scorers with 23.

New Orleans Hornets 89, Charlotte Bobcats 73 — Steven Jackson missed the game and his replacement, Dominic McGuire, shot just 1-8 from the floor in an ugly loss for the Bobcats. David West was the lone player on either team to crack 20 points, scoring 22. Gerald Wallace paced the Bobcats with 18.

Dallas Mavericks 100, Minnesota Timberwolves 86 — The Wolves shot just 39%, letting an off-night from Dallas slip out of their fingers. Michael Beasley and Shawn Marion both had 16 points. Both teams had double digit turnovers and both teams shot poorly, but Dallas made up it’s margin on the threeball, knocking down 10-24 compared to Minnesota’s 4-14. It was the Mavericks seventh straight win.

Los Angeles Clippers 90, San Antonio Spurs 85 — A down night for the Spurs as they shot just 35% from the floor. Blake Griffin was in beast mode, with 31 points on 21 shots and 13 rebounds. Eric Gordon added 21 for the Clippers, George Hill led San Antonio with 17. The loss cut San Antonio’s lead over Dallas in the Southwest to 1 game.
