Chuck Hayes Out 2-4 Weeks With Ankle Sprain

The Rockets continue to be besieged by ankle injuries, and their latest is to forward/center Chuck Hayes. Hayes rolled his ankle in practice after landing on a teammates foot, and will be sidelined 2-4 weeks according to Rockets.com’s Jason Friedman.

The diagnosis is a moderate to severe ankle sprain. Depending on how the recovery goes, the Rockets’ original prognosis could see him back on any day from January 14th against the Hornets to January 29th against the Spurs.

WIth Hayes out, Jordan Hill is likely to be the biggest beneficiary in terms of minutes. The Rockets will likely have him and Brad Miller splitting center minutes for the duration of Hayes’ injury.
