If the struggling Suns decide to part with their star PG, Houston may be a decent landing spot.
↵Now, there are a couple problems with this scenario. First off, does Nash even want to leave? In an interview with the Arizona Republic, Nash told reporters:
↵↵↵"I want to be positive and make this a great opportunity and a great season. I know a lot of people are telling me to demand a trade. If I demand one, does that mean I get to pick my team? No. It's not that simple...I signed to play here and I want to make this team a really good one."
↵
You've gotta love this type of attitude. It's truly rare to see a player actually honor his contract, despite seeing greener pastures elsewhere.
↵However, the Suns are 2-5 since trading for Vince Carter and co., and though the pickup of Marcin Gortat was supposed to help with their interior defense, the Suns have continued to struggle. One has to ask if keeping Nash is best for both him and the Suns.
↵If the two decide it's best to part ways, Houston has among the league's most desirable chips.
↵Yes, Nash is old, 36 to be exact; but if this Rockets team is serious about making the playoffs and being a darkhorse contender, the acquisition of Steve Nash would make this a very scary team.
