Rockets Vs. Spurs Score: Kevin Martin Leads Houston To 53-35 Halftime Advantage

The Houston Rockets used a big second quarter to take a 53-35 lead into halftime in their home opener against the San Antonio Spurs. Houston outscored San Antonio 30-17 during the second period.

The Rockets have given a solid defensive effort in the first half holding the Spurs to 30 percent shooting in the first half including 1-10 shooting from three-point range. Houston also holds an early 28-23 rebounding advantage.

After a sub par season opener, Kevin Martin got off to a great start scoring 20 first half points. Martin hit 8-14 shots and was 3-6 from beyond-the-arc. Luis Scola was also solid in the first half finishing with 14 points and five rebounds.

Tony Parker scored eight points in the first half but had little help. Tim Duncan is off to a forgettable start scoring four points on just 1-8 shooting from the field. DeJuan Blair finished the half with six points and six rebounds.
