The Houston Rockets will tip off their 2011-2012 regular season schedule on Monday, December 26 with a trip to Orlando to take on Dwight Howard and the Magic in a nationally televised game on NBA TV. Houston's home opener is on December 29 against the San Antonio Spurs.
Houston will only play one set of back-to-back-to-back games and get it out of the way early at the end of December. The Rockets host San Antonio on December 29, travel to Memphis on December 30 and are back home on New Year's Eve to take on the Atlanta Hawks.
As far as divisional opponents go, Houston will play San Antonio and Memphis four times each but will only play New Orleans and Dallas three times. The Hornets will come to Houston in two of the three match ups but the Rockets will travel to Dallas for two of the three meetings.
When it comes to playing the Eastern Conference, the Rockets will have a tough road stretch as they will travel to play heavyweights Orlando, Boston, Chicago and Miami.
