Don't Eat Shark Fin Soup, Because Yao Said So

The Chinese do some great things, like raising Yao Ming and letting him be an NBA star. They also do some not-so-great things, like exterminating many of the world's sharks to make shark fin soup. What if we used the good to eliminate the bad? And thus, Yao Ming gets to star in this awkward commercial about shark fin soup:

They somehow managed to make Yao look much more intimidating than the shark, which is a pretty novel technique. The message is of course, highly idealistic, but hey, it's good to see Yao making a difference in his off-court time. He certainly has a lot of it now.

But what else would you expect from a noted shark sympathizer like Yao? Which team did he grow up playing for? The Shanghai Sharks. Clearly he's been in league with the sharks from the get-go, and this message is just one step closer to us all re-living the set of Jaws.
