2011 NBA Draft Order: Rockets Hold 14, 23, and 38

With the Draft Lottery taking place yesterday evening, the Rockets now have the luxury of knowing exactly where their picks in this draft are. Let me say: it sure would be nice if this was a better draft, because with three picks in the top 38, the Rockets would be poised to exploit it. As it stands now, Daryl Morey may not be able to get excellent value for these picks like he might in a different draft. I'm not putting it past him, but it's definitely more of a long shot. The most likely scenario involves a few of those picks changing hands as the Rockets look to trade up or trade for a veteran big man.

Houston dealt away it's second round pick this year, but received the Magic's first rounder in the Aaron Brooks-Goran Dragic trade and the Clippers' second rounder for Steve Novak. The Cavaliers and Jazz both won the lottery, moving up into the top three picks.
