The Houston Rockets are a team filled with youth. They spent the NBA Draft picking up a ton of new, young talent and picked up Jeremy Lin from the New York Knicks to be their breakout star of the future. In fact, 29-year old Kevin Martin is the oldest member of the entire roster.
At the Rockets media day on Monday, forward Chandler Parsons went so far as to say that playing on the Rockets feels like he's with an AAU squad, or just playing with a bunch of friends:
"It almost feels like we’re an AAU team. I’m carpooling with the guys to practice, we’re all going to team dinners, we’re doing things that I did with my college teammates which is cool because that’s how you create chemistry on the court. We’re all so close in age and … we like the same interests off the court so I think that’s really going to help our game on the court. When we comes to games and to practice, we’re playing with our friends; it’s not just because we have to but because we genuinely like each other."
Houston will start its season against the Detroit Pistons on Oct. 31 at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
