Rockets exercise 2013-14 options for Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris

Marcus Morris and Patrick Patterson both had their options picked up by the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.

Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE

The Houston Rockets have picked up the 2013-14 options of both power forward/center Patrick Patterson and forward Marcus Morris.

Houston has been very busy bringing in new players recently with the additions of Omer Asik, Jeremy Lin and James Harden in the offseason. Now, general manager Daryl Morey is showing that he hasn't forgotten about the men already in town with the Morris and Patterson moves.

Morris was a standout in college for the Kansas Jayhawks but hasn't been able to do much in the NBA. However, Morris was able to see some time with Houston last year, appearing in 17 games and averaging 2.4 points and 0.9 rebounds.

Patterson is a 6-foot-9 forward out of Kentucky University who has shown considerable promise over his first two years in Houston. In his career, Patterson has averaged 7.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game over 116 starts in the league.
