Rockets vs. Wizards recap: Houston takes care of Washington, 99-93

The Rockets ended their losing streak with a home win on Wednesday.

The Houston Rockets snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating the Washington Wizards, 99-93, on Wednesday night in Houston.

James Harden scored a game-high 31 points while grabbing four rebounds and three steals to lead the Rockets in the win. Houston maintained a narrow lead throughout most of the game and scored a game-best 31 points in the fourth quarter.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards in the close loss, scoring 20 points and dishing six assists. Emeka Okafor had the best night for Washington, scoring 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting while adding four rebounds and two blocks.

Omer Asik posted a usually high rebound total, pulling down 16 boards while adding nine points in 37 minutes. Chandler Parsons scored 18 points, while Toney Douglas pitched in 12 off the bench.

Houston improved to a 10-11 record, while Washington fell to 3-16. Both teams return to action Friday when the Rockets host the Boston Celtics, while the Wizards are at home against the Los Angeles Lakers.
