NBA Standings 2012: Rockets Sliding In Southwest Division

The Houston Rockets are 17-14 heading into tonight's matchup against the Utah Jazz. The Rockets are 5-5 in their last 10 games but have lost three of four to fall into fourth place in the Southwest division standings five games behind the division leading Spurs.

The Rockets are two and a half games behind the Mavericks who are in second and trail the suddenly hot Memphis Grizzlies by just a half game for third place.

Houston is currently slotted in the seventh spot in the Western Conference and is in a virtual tie with the Denver Nuggets who are eighth. Houston trails the Oklahoma City Thunder by six and a half games for the top spot in the west.
