The interesting non-rumor floating around is that the Hornets and Rockets are talking about swapping Chris Kaman's Expiring Contract for some of the Class of 09 that Houston has stacked on his roster. The Rockets would be sending Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill or possibly some other players to fill out the deal.
↵That'd leave Houston with a $14 million dollar contract expiring at the end of the season, which makes free agency VERY interesting. Or not, judging by Darryl Morey's track record.
↵At any rate, there is a second reason why the deal makes sense that doesn't involve center help or salary relief. The biggest reason is that it will get rid of a bit of the logjam on Houston's roster. With few of the 4s and 5s gone, there will be more room for Pat Patterson and others to fit into a regular rotation.
↵Houston simply has too many players. The Rockets need to decide which to keep and soon, before they lose more and more value.
