Ooof, not a great weekend for the Rockets, as they lose Kyle Lowry for 2-4 weeks, Kevin Martin says his sprained shoulder isn't holding him back (despite evidence to the contrary) and Terrence Williams said he missed the second half because of a "stomach ache."
↵This isn't good, folks. What was a nice story about a Rockets team contending for the playoffs despite not having a true star player has turned into a mess. I don't doubt Goran Dragic can fill in admirably for Lowry, but he's not in Kyle's class as a defender.
↵Oh, and at least Martin isn't blaming his shoulder for his suckitude lately. However, he's still been pretty bad for an extended stretch and now hasn't been shooting well, going 8 for 28 on this latest road trip. How can the Rockets trade him if he's this bad or hurt? No good, folks, no good.
↵Meanwhile, T-Will finally got some playing time, after getting benched for missing a practice. Things are not going well with this relationship. Williams is a talented player, but he may not have the time in Houston to tap into it. He may not ever be able to do that, but the Rockets have given him a chance. Somewhat. I guess.
↵If any of these three stories had popped up, it'd have been a small thing. But, put together, and it's a bad sign for the near future for Houston.
