The last ten games haven't been kind to the Houston Rockets, as they've managed only three wins in that span. Still, the Rockets are hanging onto the eighth seed in the Western Conference with their 24-21 record.
Houston's grasp on that final playoff spot isn't strong, though, as Phoenix and Utah sit just one and a half games behind Houston. The Minnesota Timberwolves are only two games back, and the Portland Trailblazers are also in contention for that eighth seed in the Western Conference at well, a mere two and a half games behind the Rockets.
The news isn't all bad for Houston. The Rockets sit just one and a half games behind both the Mavericks and Grizzles in the Southwest Division. Houston will be able to gain some ground this week on the Mavericks as well, as the two teams play head-to-head on Saturday.
With so much time left in the regular season, the Rockets certainly control their own fate. Houston can add some distance between themselves and the Suns, as the Rockets head to Phoenix on Sunday night to take on the Suns.
