The Houston Rockets have exceeded expectations this season, contending for the playoffs in he second half of the season without a premiere superstar or dominant scorer on the roster.

The Denver Nuggets enter the Toyota Center Friday night with much of the same story, after dealing Carmelo Anthony but still managing to play high caliber basketball as the Western Conference's eigth seed heading into this game.

Houston lost a tough one against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night and look to rebound from that performance. Rockets point guard Kyle Lowry told the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen that losing to the Jazz had to be a learning experience for the team.

"You learn from it and grow from it and get better and go back at it Friday. That's the bounce-back game. We can't go on those three-, four-game losing streaks. We lose one, let's come back and win two, three in a row. Like I said Monday, we can't have those losing streaks and expect to stay in the top five of the playoff race."
